WIDOT reports 61 traffic fatalities in Wisconsin in August

The month of August has shown the largest number of motor vehicular fatalities in Wisconsin, data from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation showed.

According to the department, 61 people have died in Wisconsin as a result of traffic accidents just in August – compared to 68 in August 2014. Officials noted that August has been the top month for traffic fatalities in Wisconsin every year for the last five years.

As of August 31, a total of 356 individuals have lost their lives in traffic accidents in Wisconsin in 2015. This number comprises of 54 motorcycle drivers, two motorcycle passengers, 34 pedestrians, and nine bicycle riders.
