Weekend motorcycle accidents result in injuries and death

One person died while another has been severely wounded in a spate of motorcycle accidents in Wisconsin on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2.

According to a report by The Duluth News Tribune, 51-year-old Foxboro resident Daniel Scott Russell suffered a severe head injury as well as internal injuries in a motorcycle accident that occurred in Superior last Sunday. The accident occurred when he crashed into a cow that was left out on the road by its owner. Unfortunately, Russell succumbed to his injuries at a Duluth hospital.

Russell’s 52-year-old passenger was also taken to the same hospital for the treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries.

In the same weekend, the Minnesota State Patrol reported that a motorcyclist was taken via helicopter to a hospital in Wright County after his motorcycle collided with a CR-V along Interstate 94.
