Identity of Melrose motorcycle accident victim released

The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office in Wisconsin recently announced the identity of a motorcycle accident victim who died a couple of weeks earlier, 41-year-old Montrose resident Kevin Nelson, according to WKOW on June 11.

Nelson experienced an accident in the 1200 block of Highway 69 in Montrose on May 27, at around 9:30 p.m. According to previous reports, the motorcyclist lost control while driving and crossed into the opposite lane. An oncoming SUV struck him, and Nelson died at the scene of the accident.

Police said they have yet to ascertain the full details of the crash and have not decided yet if charges are going to be filed. The Dane County Sheriff’s Office and the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office are in charge of conducting an investigation into Nelson’s case.
