Turtle Lake motorcycle accident results in injury, death

The Turtle Lake Police Department in Wisconsin reported that a motorcycle-automobile collision near Highway 8 and Prossner Boulevard resulted in the death of one individual, according to a News 18 report on May 3.

According to preliminary investigations made by the police, 50-year-old Turtle Lake resident Charlotte Cole was making a left turn towards Prossner Boulevard in her westbound car when she turned into the path of an eastbound motorcycle operated by 45-year-old Baldwin resident Robert Axtell, forcing him to crash into her.

The motorcycle hit the front corner of the vehicle, causing both Axtell and his passenger, 45-year-old Susan Dewaele, to be ejected from the motorcycle. Both were immediately brought to the hospital, but sadly, Dewaele died soon after. No reports indicated the condition of Axtell.

According to information released about the accident, neither of the motorcyclists were wearing a safety helmet at the time of the crash.
