Woman killed in Wisconsin motorcycle crash

Police officials at St. Croix County in Wisconsin reported that 79-year-old Deer Park resident Charlene Kastens died in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident on May 24 at 12:30 p.m., KARE 11 reported on May 26.

According to police officials, a 2012 Honda Trike GL 1800 driven by an unnamed 88-year-old man was headed south on Highway 63 when he drove the motorcycle into a ditch running parallel to the road near the 180th Avenue intersection. Kastens, a passenger on the motorcycle, was rushed to a local hospital after the incident but ultimately succumbed to her life-threatening wounds. The driver sustained non-threatening injuries. The couple both wore helmets at the time of the accident.

The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the situation to determine whether any outside influence contributed to the motorcycle’s crash.
