De Soto man injured in motorcycle crash

A De Soto man was injured as a result of a motorcycle collision that took place on State Highway 82 near Brown Road.

According to police officials with the Vernon County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred when a 54-year-old man was traveling on his motorcycle and he lost control of the bike while rounding the curve and crashed his bike.

The man was transported to Vernon Memorial Healthcare in order to be treated for shoulder, neck and back injuries. The man was not wearing a helmet when the crash occurred. Police are currently still investigating what caused the man to lose control of the vehicle and an update on his condition has not yet been released.
