Motorcyclists raise funds for muscular dystrophy research

Last Saturday,  the eighth annual Firefighters Ride for MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) drew in 2,000 motorcyclists to raise money to help fight muscular dystrophy. Motorcyclists from across the country toured the streets of central Wisconsin.

The motorcycle ride and benefit included a motorcycle parade, a ride through the state, and live music. All of the proceeds go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which provides research funding as well as support to families that are dealing with the condition.

Since it began, the firefighter-sponsored ride has raised more than $250,000.

Being able to take part in events like this is just one of many benefits of motorcycle riding.
