Man succumbs to injuries after motorcycle accident

An 80-year-old Indiana man has passed away from his injuries relating to a motorcycle accident.

The accident occurred on December 12, 2011 in Tampa Bay, Florida. The man was operating his 2007 Harley Davidson around 11:00 p.m. when he entered into a crossover lane. While attempting to cross over the lanes of traffic, the man was struck by an oncoming semi-truck.

The 54-year-old semi-truck driver tried to avoid the motorcycle but was not able to get out of the way in time. The man on the motorcycle was ejected. He was immediately taken to a local hospital and listed in critical condition. Five days after the accident took place, the man succumbed to his injuries.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and friends during this difficult time.
