Wisconsin Rapids Man Injured in Crash with Deer

A man was injured in a Wisconsin motorcycle accident Saturday.

According to officials with the Vernon County Sheriff’s Department, a motorcycle accident occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m. Saturday in the town of Harmony. Deputies say 41 year-old Wisconsin Rapids-resident Trevas Stanczyk was injured in the crash.

According to a Vernon County Sheriff’s Department accident report, Stancyzk was traveling northbound on Shingle Hollow Road when a deer crossed the roadway, into his path. Stancyzk attempted to slow for the animal, but was unable to avoid it. He struck the deer and was ejected from his motorcycle in the accident.

Stanzyk was transported by ground ambulance to Vernon Memorial Hospital for treatment after the accident. No information on the nature or extent of his injuries was immediately available.

The accident remains under investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Department.
