Kendall Man Injured in Motorcycle Accident

A man was injured in a Wisconsin motorcycle accident on Highway P Saturday evening.

According to officials with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, 54 year-old Kendall-resident Gary Merkel was traveling west on Highway P near Montana Road shortly before 8:00 p.m. Saturday when the accident occurred. Police say Merkel lost control of his motorcycle and careened off the roadway.

According to the accident report, Merkel was ejected from the motorcycle in the accident. He sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital. He was later transferred to University of Wisconsin-Madison Hospital. He is listed in critical condition.
