N2Deep Singer, Wife Killed in Motorcycle Accident

The lead singer of the rap group N2Deep and his wife were killed in a motorcycle crash in California Saturday night.

According to officials with the Woodland Police Department, 41 year-old Joseph “Lofty” Davis Battle, and his wife, 43 year-old Tamera Brown, were operating a motorcycle shortly after 6:30 p.m. when the accident occurred. The couple was passing a Woodland elementary school when Battle was “unable to negotiate a turn in the roadway,” police said. The motorcycle slammed into the back of a parked Chevy Avalanche, authorities said.

Vacaville police had received a report of a motorcycle speeding, and when an officer went to investigate, found the Harley Davidson motorcycle and both of its riders down. Members of the Vacaville Fire Department attempted life saving efforts on both Battle and Brown, but the couple was pronounced dead at the scene.

A memorial honoring the couple was held Sunday morning at the scene of the crash.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ family and friends.
