Wisconsin motorcycle deaths increase in 2010

According to statistics released by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the number of motorcycle deaths increased from 2009 to 2010.

84 traffic deaths involving motorcyclists were reported in 2009, while 104 occurred in 2010, a 24% increase. The Wisconsin State Patrol believes that the increase may have occurred because more people are riding motorcycles to save money on gas.

A total of 564 traffic deaths occurred on Wisconsin roads in 2010, an increase from 2009 but below the 5-year average.

A motorcycle accident can lead to severe injuries and damages that require costly medical treatment and other care.
