U2 producer injured in motorcycle crash

A Los Angeles man, widely known for his work in production with bands such as U2, was in a motorcycle crash last weekend in Silverlake, California.  Daniel Lanois is currently in intensive care and authorities say that he is expected to recover.  They also note that because the injuries he suffered were so severe, he will not be returning to work for the next two months.  Before his accident, Lanois was going to town for tour rehearsals, according to a post on Twitter .

Lanois has also worked as a producer for Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan and Peter Gabriel, among others.  Before the accident, he was set to go on a European tour.  Lanois won a Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 1997 when he worked with Bob Dylan to make the album “Time Out of Mind.”
