Tests show De Pere man was drunk before fatal motorcycle accident

Test results show that a De Pere man responsible for a fatal accident in the town of Hartland was driving with a blood-alcohol content of 0.25 percent at the time of the accident, according to an article on greenbaypressgazette.com. The driver was serving probation on a 2012 OWI conviction—his fourth such conviction—at the time of the accident.

The De Pere man responsible for the accident is reported to have crossed the center line, driving into oncoming traffic with his GMC pickup. In the moments that followed, the driver hit and killed an oncoming motorcyclist. The De Pere man then hit another vehicle containing the motorcyclist’s family, all of whom were taken to an area hospital. The condition of their health has not been disclosed.

In addition to the death of the motorcyclist, the De Pere man who is responsible for the accident also died as a result of injuries sustained in the wreck.
