Motorcyclists in the state of Wisconsin need to be aware of the risks that are associated with the winter season. Between October and December, large amounts of deer occupy Wisconsin. This mating season creates hazards for drivers and motorcyclists alike.
The deer population in Wisconsin is said to fall between 1.2 million and 1.6 million. Deer roam the areas looking for mates and impairing motorcyclists’ ability to see and operate their bikes. Last year there was only one motorcyclist death reported from a deer collision but numerous accidents took place.
The type of vehicle on the road is a huge factor involved when determining the number of crashes in the state. By operating a motorcycle you are more likely to be involved in an accident with a deer.
