Motorcycle-car crash injures rider

A motorcyclist was injured when his motorcycle crashed into a car yesterday.

According to Vigo County Sheriff’s deputies, the incident took place at the intersection of U.S 40 and Chamberlain Road yesterday afternoon. As the motocyclist was traveling eastbound, he began to pass through the intersection at Chamberlain Road. At the same time, a car started to pull out of a driveway into the path of the motocycle.

The motorcycle and the car collided, destroying the motocycle and damaging the car’s front panels and driver-side door. The motorcyclist, who was reportedly not wearing a helmet, was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

The driver of the car was not injured in the accident. The motorcyclist is currently being treated for a head injury.

Omro Man Injured in Motorcycle Crash

An Omro man was injured in a motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon.

According to officials with the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department, the motorcycle accident occurred shortly after 4:00 p.m. on County Road D between Erueka Road and County Road B outside of Borth. Deputies say a 40 year-old Omro man was traveling with another motorcycle when the accident occurred, but the other driver was not injured in the crash.

According to the sheriff’s department, witnesses traveling in front of the two motorcycles saw no appearance of reckless actions taken by the motorcyclists. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The injured man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. He was transported by the Flight For Life helicopter to Theda Clark Hospital for treatment. No information on the nature or extent of the victim’s injuries was available.

Oshkosh Fire paramedics, the Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department all responded to the scene.

Man Hurt in Rock County Motorcycle Accident

A man was injured in a Wisconsin motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon.

According to officials with the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened shortly before 2:00 p.m. Saturday at 10150 Bowers Lake Road, just east of County KK in Lima Township. Deputies say 42 year-old Matthew Kollath, of Horicon, was riding in a convoy of motorcycles participating in the Wisconsin State Firefighters Memorial Ride for Remembrance when the accident occurred. A black Labrador retriever ran out in front of Kollath’s motorcycle and the two collided.

Kollath was thrown from his motorcycle in the crash. He was reportedly conscious after the accident and was transported by helicopter to Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa. His injuries are described as non-life threatening.

Speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash, the sheriff’s office reported.

The dog was also injured in the crash. The dog’s owner, 18 year-old Steven Gilder, was issued a citation for a dog running at large.
