A man from Janesville was injured in a Wisconsin motorcycle accident Tuesday evening.
According to officials with the Janesville Police Department, 38 year-old Richard L. Vance was traveling south on Garfield Avenue, in Janesville, shortly after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday when the crash occurred. Police say Vance lost control of his motorcycle for unknown reasons and crashed into the back of a vehicle that was stopped at the intersection of East Court and South Garfield Avenues. The impact of the crash ejected Vance from the motorcycle.
Vance was transported by Janesville Fire Department ambulance to Mercy Hospital following the crash. A hospital spokesperson described his injuries as “non-life-threatening.”
Police could not identify Vance until Wednesday morning, as he did not have an I.D. when the accident happened and his motorcycle lacked a license plate.
Vance was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
